TRICIA HERSEY

CoFfee and Tea Chats

I have been an educator since I was 12 years old. I can remember organizing the kids on my block in a tutorial on how to fold paper into an intricate paper airplane. I also organized a clothing drive for a family on my block by first having everyone gather on the porch to listen to why. I have taught poetry and literature in public aid offices, alternative schools, group homes and in front of liquor stores. Our greatest liberation tool for our own healing and for our communities lies in education.

I love alternative educational opportunities - things that happen outside the walls of academia. Lets meet for coffee or tea for a lesson. Let me create resources specifically for your interests. I have experience with all ages. I once taught blues poems to 5 year olds in Chicago Public Schools and womanist theology to 60 - 75 year olds at a Presbyterian Church. Education is my passion.

Topics include but not limited to:
  • Poetry Writing
  • Liberation Theology
  • Black Liberation Theology
  • Creating guerrilla art spectacles
  • Creative Empowerment
  • Biblical interpretation
  • Coffee 101: How to brew coffee 3 unique ways
  • Visiting an archive for self care (field trip included)
  • How to write a liberation manifesto
  • How to raise a socially conscious child

And many more (have an idea, let me know)

  • a one page document of resources emailed
  • 30 minutes of teaching via phone, Zoom Video or in person if you are in Atlanta.

***Update: Tricia is no longer accepting clients for this offering and focusing her spiritual care work on her events and programming with The Nap Ministry.
